About
Warach Technical Consultants is a one-person shop run by Nayab Warach, an electrical engineering technologist who has spent years in the weeds of broadcast infrastructure. Transmitter specs, FCC filings, studio signal chains, LPFM launches: that's the work.
Most of that experience comes from actually running a radio station. I managed the full technical build-out of KAGZ-LP 106.7 FM in College Station: tower-share coordination, transmitter and antenna selection, audio processing configuration, and the FCC paperwork that goes with all of it.
I also work as an electrical engineer designing power systems for mission-critical facilities. If you need someone who can read a spec sheet and write the proposal, that's the job.
Services
Antenna selection, tower-share coordination, transmitter spec, and RF path analysis for FM and LPFM stations. I've done the site surveys and the paperwork. Both matter.
Signal chain design, audio processor configuration, codec integration (Tieline, Comrex), and streaming setup. The stuff that makes a station actually sound right on air.
Technical preparation for FCC applications, LPFM construction permits, and license renewals. I'm not a lawyer, but I know the engineering side cold.
Full project management from facility build-out through sign-on. Vendor coordination, timelines, documentation. I've been through it and can help you avoid the mistakes I already made.
On-site RF environment assessments, interference analysis, and propagation studies. Good data before you commit to a site saves a lot of headaches later.
I've run a college radio station. I know how institutional bureaucracy, tight budgets, and volunteer labor all collide with technical requirements. Happy to help navigate that.
Display systems, video routing, conferencing infrastructure, and integrated A/V installs for event spaces, studios, and facilities. If it involves a signal going somewhere, I can help spec it out.
How I Work
Figure out what you actually need
Before recommending anything, I want to understand your situation: technical constraints, regulatory standing, budget, timeline. Scope creep usually starts with skipping this step.
Give you a straight answer
I'll tell you what's realistic, what's not, and what I'd do in your position. If something is outside my lane, I'll say so instead of charging you to figure it out.
Actually do the work
Documentation, filings, vendor coordination, configuration: whatever the engagement calls for. I'm not handing you a slide deck and calling it consulting.
Leave you in good shape
The goal is infrastructure you can maintain and build on. I'd rather do it right once than have you call me back because something was done on the cheap.
Contact
Send me a brief email with what you're working on. I'll get back to you quickly, usually same day, and we can figure out from there if it's a good fit.
